Chris and Sherri Eads
Chris trusted Christ at the age of 15, coming from an un-churched, agnostic home life. At age 16, he began to answer God’s call on his life to teach and preach the scriptures, with a special emphasis on making Christianity relevant to skeptics, the broken-hearted, and those who find themselves distrustful of organized church.
Through numerous ministry assignments over more than three decades, God has used Chris in both full-time and bi-vocational ministry settings, ranging from church planting and senior pastoring, to international missions work, to writing and curriculum development, and a wide range of teaching pastor, interim pastor, and itinerate pastor roles. In the most recent chapter of his ministry life, Chris enjoyed an eight-year season of multi-vocational ministry where he earned a primary living in a corporate business setting with the nation’s largest aviation association developing major aeronautical events.
Sherri put her trust in Christ as a teenager in a traditional church setting. Her deep hunger to grow in scriptural knowledge as well as to use her gifts in ministry to others has brought great joy to her and her family. Her primary spiritual gifts are hospitality, serving, and shepherding, with a deep passion for caregiving, supporting and nurturing others, and being deeply invested in the relational lives of her church family.
Sherri has two twin daughters who work in nursing and pharmacology. In addition to joyfully sharing life with their daughters, Chris and Sherri enjoy a wide range of mutual interests and hobbies, to include flying, exploring, researching history, and many outdoor activities.
As God brought Chris and Sherri together over a number of years, it was evident to all involved in their lives that this was a special union bringing great redemptive power to their stories and their positioning for effective ministry. Their marriage brought to completion a powerful story of redemption as they each grew and healed from the learnings and heart-breaks of their previous marriages. Today, they find themselves uniquely positioned to walk closely with people healing through their own stories of profound hardship and brokenness, while also leading the Church to better understand the power of grace, mercy, healing, compassion, and restoration.
They speak with relevance into the lives of many who fear that their stories would be unwelcomed in the Church. They are able to help both leaders and families of the church recognize and address the complex struggles which many believers keep hidden for fear of rejection, or embarrassment, or a fear of God’s judgement. They are able to model to churched and unchurched alike what it looks like to pursue God faithfully from deeply imperfect circumstances. This has afforded them a unique relevance to many outside the Church, as well as powerfully shaping Chris’s preaching ministry with a keen insight to the often-hidden struggles of believers.
